Redbrook - Higbury Woods Walk - (7:45pm start)

Just me and the angry Blackbirds.

Stately ancient Yews.

Tonight's walk framed by film and slightly forced.

Pellet-like rain.

Leaves tinkering in waves from ear to ear.

Bizarre phone light.

Footsteps dull underfoot.

Bumpy bowel of a Beech tree's bough.

Wrinkle knuckles.

Furious green slope drops below.

'Man trap' gates.

Rain coming in closer - leaves now hugging me with sound.

Monmouth: Day 29

Rainbow, just now, over the 'Kymin' - I can see it from my room. Too far and cloudy for a good photograph so I've cheated and found one on the Internet.

(A few weeks ago, I didn't even know what the Kymin was - now you know too!)

Grapefruit
Pitta Bread
Salad
Cheese
Chillies
Falafel
Stir fry veg
Quorn
Milk
....................................
Playhouse on stilts.

RAF low flying transport plane.

Stiff and healthy resistant crops - like plastic.

Terracotta soil - hygienically barren.

Birdsong louder nearer woods.

Scaredy farm cat.

Scruffy old Jack Russell with Portly deportment closely checked me out.

The canine alarms began to ring out.

The skin on my skull crinkled with fear.

Up the hill and over the top and on to Buckholt Wood.

Down through muddy green tunnels.

Boom!!!! The view.

Ambiwlans all open and surgically bright.

Fizzing blue lights & lime green livery.

Cornflower coloured Cosmos.

A sturdy line of Lupins.

'Rock Crescent' - behind olive louvered shutters  - pointed bulbs in prickly chandelier.

White Wysteria just going over.

Diving blackbirds.

Again with the Cornish rain.

Monmouth: Day 26

So far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're just time away

Long ago I reached for you and there you stood
Holding you again could only do me good
Oh, how I wish I could
But you're so far away

One more song about moving along the highway
Can't say much of anything that's new
If I could only work this life out my way
I'd rather spend it being close to you

But you're so far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're so far away

Traveling around sure gets me down and lonely
Nothing else to do but close my mind
I sure hope the road don't come to own me
There's so many dreams I've yet to find

But you're so far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're so far away
