It's all about me!

The good folks at Kut and Paste very kindly included me in their latest flyer, even though the gig has now apparently been cancelled due to a double booking :-(. Thanks though Chris and Dan. Love the colours!

Was it all a dream?

Woke this morning at 4am. My body is still in Tokyo time. My dreams have been weirdly intense and trippy and my appetite's all over the shop. Good to have the cat back from the cattery though, Murphy was on my lap within an hour of being home, made up for having to go to work. It was amazing in Japan, sorry I didn't add much to the blog, there was just too much going in to allow anything to come out. I just took as many photos as I could and really took it all in. We love it even more now. We travelled all over, from Hakuba near Nagano, to Morioka in Nrthern Honshu then onto Hokkaido where we visited Hakodate, Sapporo, Daisetsuzan National Park and Muroran. God it was ace. The people we met were priceless and beautiful, I just want more interaction with them and must make an effort to learn the language in order to facilitate this.
I've uploaded my months allowance of photos onto Flickr and will add more next month. Here's a few favourites, especially for the blog.

Safe and Sound...

Well, we're safe and sound and currently staying in the Japanese Alps. The flight was arduous but we can really recommend Finnair as an airline, their service was faultless. Tokyo was hot; the mountains are not. It's raining here right now and it's a good place to get over jet-lag. I've been stimulated to draw and take lots of photos already, I/we are still not bored with this country, I don'think I ever will be. We've had the first beer of the evening and instant ramen noodles, (as most eating places are closed tonight.) Looking forward to walking tomorrow and taking an outdoor spa! Can't think of much more to say right now...frazzled head. Bye for now though and hope you're all okay in the UK.

Works of Art...

Had a great weekend in London. Stayed with friends and celebrated birthdays by eating amazing food and, (of course,) drinking beer. We visited the RA Summer Exhibition on Saturday morning, always inspires us to do more work, (one day we'll actually submit). The architectural models section was a notable highlight with amazing examples, my favourite being the work from Zaha Hadid. Then onto the Serpentine Gallery on a No. 14 bus to see the new Jeff Koons show...oh my god, the attention to detail was scary and the concept was just amazing...we weren't allowed to touch the works, but people kept trying, (much to the annoyance of the gallery wardens.) All this sounds very name-droppy, (we did see the actor, Steve Martin though!), but we were genuinely thrilled to see some of these sights. We miss living in London. Other sights I was genuinely thrilled to see were two Nissan Cube's in one day! I've only ever seen these, tactile toy-shaped, fun cars in Japan; first time I've ever seen them in the UK...still want one.

Conundrum Clue...

Chris had to tell me the answer to the Zine conundrum. Clue: it's VERY topical, musically...

Me in a Zine!

My friends and colleagues, Chris White & Dan Brown (Professional VJ's who organise MASH Cinema's, Kut&Paste, a monthly audio visual night, in Hereford ), have just released their first zine. They've very kindly given me the back cover spot! Nice work. The zine cleverly folds out to reveal a conundrum, can you work out what it says? I can't yet.
